U-Know is a card game for 2 to 12 players. To join the game, touch the table to sit and you'll be positioned at a vacant seat. Your camera will be automatically aligned with the table - if you cam away you can return to the table view by pressing your Esc key.
You'll need a U-Know HUD to join the game - if you're not wearing one within a few seconds of sitting you'll be offered one. Attach it to your HUD, by default at the top right position, by right clicking and selecting Wear. You'll see the chip in front of your position turn green when your HUD has been detected.
When 2 or more players have joined, the game can be started by touching the Start legend on the table. After a game has started nobody else can join until the next one.
You can change your seat or pose by touching your stool to open the Player Menu. From here select Seat to change your position at the table, Pose to change your sit animation, Bell to change or disable the sound that indicates when it's your turn, or Instructions to get this document. You can also touch any vacant stool before the game starts to move directly to it.
* The Rules *
The deck consists of cards of 4 colours: red, green, blue, and yellow. The ranks in each color are 0-9. There are 6 "action" cards in each color, labeled R (Reverse), S (Skip), D (Draw 2), A (All draw), P (Play again) and N (No wildcards). There are 3 copies of each coloured regular and action card, except for the zero cards, which only have one per suit. In addition there are 12 "wild" and 8 "wild draw 4" cards, producing a total of 208 cards.
When the game starts a dealer is selected at random, seven cards are dealt to each player, and the top card of the stock is exposed to start the discard pile. If the exposed card has a special ability, it is treated as if the dealer played that card, and the special effect occurs. If the exposed card is wild, however, it is returned to the deck and the next card is exposed. Play begins with the person to the left of the dealer, i.e. clockwise.
At each turn, a player may play a card from their hand that matches the colour or face of the top exposed card, or play a wild or wild draw 4 card (the latter only if the player holds no other playable card). If a player has no legal card to play, that player must draw the top card of the stock by touching the deck, and may either play it (if valid) or leave it in their hand. If a player decides not to play a card and draws one or more cards instead there is no penalty. After playing a single card or drawing at least one card, the next player clockwise takes a turn, or counter-clockwise when reverse is in effect. If the stock is emptied, the discard pile is shuffled and turned over to replenish the stock.
When a player plays down to only one card, that player is required to say "U-Know" to warn other players (this happens automatically). The hand is over when one player has discarded all of their cards, and that player is the winner.
