UAS Flexi-Pak
The Universal Animation System (UAS) was originally developed to support a network of dancing stations. Since then it far expanded but the name is kept for historical reasons. The UAS is a star topology network, which includes a central control node (server) and up to 100 client nodes. It may also include auxiliary devices supporting additional functionality, such as the MPV-E staff database server, Public Announcer unit(s), etc.
The following devices may be deployed as UAS client nodes and may be mixed in any proportion:
- UAD-N type dancing/camping stations, including UAD-N, UAD-NB, UAD-NC and UAD-NS models.
- TJ-N type tip jars, including TJ-N, TJ-NJ and TJ-NP models.
- TJ-ND type donation boxes.
- Striptease Donation Boxes.
The UAS supports remote configuration and control of client nodes via its control node on-touch user interface. Most remote commands require a single click in a user-friendly menu. Client nodes configuration notecards could be stored either in client nodes themselves or in the control node.
The control node periodically polls client nodes and assembles summary usage reports either emailed or IM-ed to you and your management team at such times as you specify. There are 2 types of reports: by device name and by user name.
The UAS adds no noticeable lag to your sim. Communications between the control node and client nodes are only on as needed basis. The handshake protocol assures connection regardless which side is restarting. The client nodes scripts are "Mono-compiled". Among other things it means that no matter how many stations you deploy, only one set of scripts will be actually run by your sim server. This may significantly decrease lag.
In the Flexi-Pak we provide a UASC control node (modify, transfer), 3 different UAD-N dancing stations (modify, copy) and a UAD-N camping station (modify, copy). They are intended as samples. Of course you are most welcome to deploy them but the best thing is that the copiable UAD-N scripts can be moved into any station you already have, regardless a single- or a multi-prim. That is why we call it a Flexi.
If you already have good dancing animations you can use them in our dancing stations - the UAD is a driver, it doesn't care what it animates. If you don't have, you will have to get them on your own, we only provide common animations intended as samples.
A UAD-N client node requires no installation and a detailed user manual makes easy to configure and operate. The UASC control node requires no installation, minimal configuration also comes with a detailed manual.
Use the "See item in Second Life" link to try the UAS interactive self-help demo in our store on the 3rd floor. It will take less than an hour of your time yet provide a much better picture of the system capabilities than we can present in here.
In the related items you can see some client nodes available separately, which seamlessly integrate into the UAS network. You can also see other networks we offer.
