Want a simple, inexpensive way to display what DJ sets or other events are coming up soon at your venue? We have it!
Upcoming Schedule Board Version 3.3 overhauls this already-popular board to:
1) Use a click menu input instead of a notecard
2) Allow you to put in repeating events only once (WHAT A TIME SAVINGS!)
3) Link with a separate Edit Display which can be rezzed occasionally for event management or which is attractive enough to be rezzed permanently as an additional long-term event display.
4) Add a lot more fonts and backgrounds than version 2.0 had.
There are two main objects in the folder:
1) The Upcoming Schedule board which houses the database script and displays the next four upcoming events with two lines of text each. Each event has a date, a start time, an end time, and a generous two lines of text (32 characters each) for you to describe the event however you like. The board then will continue to show the next four future events from now, with events falling off the board as they end. It displays future events in the order that they end. Click the board to format the fonts, colors, and background. We now give you TWELVE fonts and ELEVEN static backgrounds along with ten animated GIF backgrounds (which use the SL media function).
2) The Edit Display which shows abbreviated information on all upcoming events. It shows ten at a time (but only the first line of text for each event) and you can scroll left or right with arrows to see more events. Click the + button to add new events. Click the events themselves to edit them or delete them. Click the paintbrush to format the fonts, colors, and background.
As said above, the Edit Display is meant to be used as a tool to be rezzed occasionally to edit the data in the Upcoming Schedule Board object but it's pretty enough to keep it rezzed somewhere to show people the next ten events. It's up to you how you want to use it.
Both boards are mod, so you could use the edit menu to change the colors or customize them as much as you like!
The boards allow you to change the displayed time/date format between U.S. and European. They also allow you to shift the SLT clock used by the board to match your local time zone, if you desire.
Add your events using the + button on the Edit Display board. To add a repeating event, you first enter the date/time of the next instance of that event and then you enter a two digit "recur code":
OT - not recurring, one time only
YY - recur on that same date each year
MM - recur on that same date in next month
ME - recur on the last date of the month
WW - recur on that weekday
## - recur that many days from then (like "2 "for an event happening every other day)
We think this recurring event option will save you a LOT of programming time!
We also include two additional items:
1) A Bulk Add Event Utility that allows you to enter a series of events by notecard and add them to the main board. This can be useful to create your base schedule when you first buy the board. Once you have a base schedule entered, it's easier to edit and change it using the touch menu on the Edit Display board. When initiated it will add one event from the notecard every 5 seconds until they have all been added.
2) A Display-Only board which looks the same as the Upcoming board but it is only a display that receives data for the main board and the only functions it has are formatting. We added this because some people like multiple displays.
Access to the boards is limited to the owner plus the avatar UUIDs you list in the access notecards located inside each board.
Copy, mod (except the scripts), no transfer. >95% mesh. 27 land impact for the Upcoming board, 35 impact for the Edit Display that does not have to be permanently rezzed.
NOTE THAT WE SELL FOUR TYPES OF SCHEDULE BOARDS:
1) Upcoming (this one) -- shows next four upcoming events. Events roll off as they end. Requires you to input dates, start time, and duration for each event.
2) Daily -- shows the entire day of events until that day ends. Uses a notecard and requires the date to be in a special format. This is an older product that doesn't have the recurring event logic of the Upcoming.
3) Weekday -- Like the Daily but you DON'T need to enter dates. it has separate input notecards for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun events. Shows that current weekday's schedule until that day ends.
4) Weekly -- shows the entire week's worth of events at a glance. Doesn't even need dates. Programmed by clicking different parts of the board. If your schedule is the same every week then it doesn't need to be updated at all!
