With these wings, you'll fly just like a bird, gliding about on wide feathered wings, giving yourself a little push here and there with a powerful flap of your huge wings, or hovering in place creating waves of dust on the ground beneath you from frequent flapping of strong wings. You'll also get to see all this realistic motion from alot of different angles and camera styles with the Wings' built in camera controls. Read on to learn the details.
THE BASICS - FLIGHT TRAINING
The Wings use all your basic movement controls to function. The major difference is that your Jump/Fly Up key will be used to flap your wings, instead of directly ascending.
Jump/Fly Up key (E or PageUp) - Take off when standing on the ground, or flap your wings, if you are in the air.
Crouch/Fly Down key (C or PageDown) - While in the air, this causes you to dive. You will not instantly fall, instead you will gradually accelarate to a fast descent.
Forward key (W or Cursor Up) - While in the air, this will cause you to glide forward. Your initial gliding speed isn't too fast, but two flaps will bring you up to maximum flight speed.
Backpedal key (S or Cursor Down) - Simply makes you float backwards slowly, while hovering.
The turn keys function as normal.

I would give them 5 stars, but I have a small avatar so they are extremly oversized on me. Wished they were resizable. Other than that, I wished I had these wings ages ago. Love them to tears... ; u ; <3

These are great
These are really fun. I love flying with them. :D It took me a little while to get used to turning, though. You can't continue to hold to turn button for too long because it messes up the camera. Since I found that out, the only issues I have with them are that they are no-mod, meaning that I can't recolor or retexture them or fit them properly to my avatar. Although being too big while folded up so that they go into the ground a little, however, they do look very good no matter the size of the avatar. The other problem I had is that the folded wings sculpt isn't very pretty, but it's convincing enough because the wings are black, I guess.
Overall I would recommend these, but it may be a better idea to wait for the release of the relic wings, aka valkyrie wings 2.0, to see what improvements are made.

Not for the inexperienced...
If you're used to piloting ships that don't lock in your speed with every maneuver then you'll love the wings as you don't have to go into mouse-look to enjoy flight. Prior flight with the Black Widow fighter will be enough to get used to these wings and much like the fighter they can get you going fast. My only real complaint is that they're not yet made in bat/demon styling yet. Awesome.
Okay, but I've seen better wings.
Bought these out of curiosity to see how they compare to the Icarus Wings I bought at Grendel's Children. The Valkyrie wings do what they say on the tin - these let you fly like a bird...well, if you were an overweight bird, anyhow. They work but they made me feel like I was made out of lead as it was very hard for me to get any altitude. The control is awkward and turning is an outright pain. The mechanics work but the actual experience is horrendous.
These wings do not work in default SL flight mode. I can't think of why. I've had many pairs of wings that at least flap in default flight. If you can figure out how to script birdlike flight then surely playing an animation in SL default flight isn't impossible.
I'm not fond of the differing camera modes. I suppose that's a taste issue, but with as awkward as flying with these is I prefer to have the "cinematic" camera turned off. The ability to toggle that as well as the particles is a welcome feature.
The animations and particle effects are nice. The only real complaint I have about those is the odd crouching stance you take upon landing. The pose itself isn't bad but it happens every single time and keeps you in that position until you move. Sometimes it lags a bit and you scoot along the ground in that crouch before you stand back up again.
These are of course unmoddable. I dock a star solely for that alone as I have many different avatars and like to tint to match. I had to buy the black version of these because it went with my primary avatar and the white version is no mod as well.
Over all these aren't THAT bad but I much prefer the Icarus wings to these. They work in SL default flight, have nice controls, are moddable, and let me do useless but neat looking loops in the sky.
