The Hiller VZ-1 Pawnee, was a direct lift rotor aircraft developed by the Office of Naval Research, and contracted by the Hiller Aircraft corporation in 1953. First successful flights began in 1955 using two 44 horsepower engines. Unfortunately the Army considered them impractical and unsafe. But Fortunately for you We find them to be a LOT of fun. We hope you enjoy getting around almost anywhere in this unique and very real flying machine.
Velocity Aeronautics produced fine aircraft in Second Life from 2008 to 2016. The legacy aircraft have been listed in the Marketplace to preserve some of these classic builds. The later builds can be demo'd in world. We hope you enjoy!
