** Please note: these are older models now that have now been superseded by the 'Mark II's', some of which are payware. I have left these freeware models available for all who wish to have them, but the Mark II's are of a higher quality. See under 'Related Items' below **
A pair of barges in matching house colours representing a typical small family-owned coastal trading fleet from South-East-coast Britain in the 1930's - 1950's:
'Caliban' is a motor coaster converted from a former sail barge and features opening hatches, an internal hold and a choice of six different loads
'Iolanthe' still retains her full sail rig, though she does also have a motor. A number of modifications and improvements have been made here over the original 'Thames Spritsail Barges' pack:
* port and starboard leeboards are now independently controllable in prototypical fashion; leeboards' pivot point adjusted
* An internal hold is now fitted, with opening hatches and changeable loads, as on 'Caliban'
* twin animated propellers fitted
* minor improvements to details and fittings
Change between the six different loads or an empty hold on both models by saying in local chat:
coal
sand
stone
rubble
hay
dung
empty
For all other controls each model has its own separate HUD using different channels so both can be operated side by side.
Please refer to the .pdf guide on the 'Thames Spritsail Barges' page for more information on sailing 'Iolanthe' and using the control HUD.
