Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a very longstanding holiday now celebrated from October 31st to November 2nd in order to coincide with Western Christian All Saints' Eve, All Saints' Day, and All Souls' Day.

Of many traditions, Calaveras, or skulls, are a common symbol that take form as sugar skulls, masks, and face paint.
