Best looking CV on SL!
Oh wow, just had the time of my life.
It was a bit of a roller coaster ride with this car, and heck it surprises me, in both good and bad ways. Here are my thoughts,
Pros
-Realistic textures, both interior and exterior
>(The realistic textures are what got my heart pounding hard, everything about the car is wrapped in details. I can say this is one of the best-looking Crown Vics on the market today.)
-Average prim use/ land impact (28)
> 28 Land Impact is not a bad number, and it matches with most other cars offered in MP today
-Distinctive handling characteristics
>It handles...shall I say brutally? It spins its rear wheels and is very tail happy (skids about a lot). And I love it! It handles similarly to a muscle car, lots of wheel spins. (Suggestion : Adding tire mark trails would make an excellent touch to the whole experience)
Cons
-Small disappointments
> Hood doesn't open, no engine inside
(I'm jealous of all the other cars offered by the creator now...)
>No instructions
>No visible control menu for the car, was it hud driven or click?
(Still don't have a clue >.<)
>Realistic-looking headlight, but doesn't light up the road
(To put it frankly....the headlights are useless at night)
>No hazards and indicators
(They would be a great touch)
>Unable to resize
(While you can edit it by stretching it out the old fashion way, parts like the door or trunk will rescale themselves to the original size when you try to open and close them...that leaves a big panel gap)
Major issues
-Noise
(While I was testing the car off a public road, I crashed off during a sim crossing and down into a lake. Next thing I knew, I receive an IM from a kind neighbor living in one of the skyboxes above the road. He told me he received spam messages for my noisy engine, and we are both staggered that the engine noise reaches that far up...Below is the message that neighbor received)
[15:02] [Second Life: AntiSpam: Blocked IanCraig for spamming a Sound (60) times in 4 seconds.]
Takes a bit to get used to, but the engine is unique and enjoyable.
At first, I was ready to write this off as another bad purchase. But the scripting is actually pretty sophisticated, simulating wheel spin and proper engine revolutions matching road speed. I do wish it had a little less power to the wheels, as it likes to spin the tires at high ends of the gears, and I would also like to see an automatic transmission. But, for the price, it's not a bad buy.
It's also mod, so you can add your own sounds, like a siren and replace the engine sounds, which aren't terrible, but aren't accurate to the P71.
--- EDIT!
Upon further investigation, the vehicle's power, transmission, and brake pressure can all be modified! Veeeery nice. This bumps it up to five stars.
nice police car
looks good and i love the lights very cool . . I wish it had sirens also & more colour lights then it will be perfect
I do not advise
I shouldn't have bought this car. the machine is terrible, the worst I've seen. no menu, no choice of speed. I do not advise to buy!
