The moon gate is an ancient Chinese landscape element that acts as a portal between gardens as well as between inside and outside. The shape of these gates, a circle rising up out of the land, has many meanings.
One interpretation of the moon gate is that it is complete, representing and celebrating the cohesiveness of the family. This complete circle provides entry to a pathway for the family members to return home to celebrate one another.
Another interpretation is that the moon gate, as it lifts itself out of the landscape, is symbolic of birth and renewal. The birth of a new moon becomes the way in which time is marked and the new comes about.
Yet another interpretation is that the moon gate is, like the moon, a connection to other planets and other worlds. The moon gate, traditionally designed as an opening in a wall, connects garden to garden, inside to outside, public to private.

Each wall segment can be placed with a pilaster or a pilaster with Lantern in between. All items are COPY MOD. The builder's set is a 100% mesh set of construction pieces which will allow you to build a wall just about any shape and size. The wall looks realistic and the rustic copper gate has a great clanking sound when it is closed.
Opening the Gate:

* The gates will open automatically when you walk up to it. It will close about 20 seconds after it opens.
* If you click on the construction sign (below and to the left of the gate), the gates will remain open.
* If you touch the gate when it is open, the gates will automatically close.

Great design
This gate is very well done and looks amazing. The only thing is, I really only needed the gate and not the walls. It would be more flexible to use if the gate itself was separate from the walls. If the gate could be added separately to two plasters or plasters with lantern, it would be perfect and would reduce the prims. For my project, I really only wanted the gate and hoped it could be unlinked from the walls, but alas, no.
