A frontier bank in the Wild West rose at the center of a dusty town, its façade of heavy timber and sturdy plank doors signaling solidity and safety. Inside, customers passed money across polished counters under brass accents, right by a massive iron safe—its open door showcasing both wealth and the promise of protection.
