I do alot of traveling, by land, air, and water! There are plenty of navigational tools available but I wanted one simple HUD that had pretty much everything I needed in one tidy, simple, easy to use HUD. I couldn't find one that had everything I wanted.
To be honest with you, I didn't make one that had EVERYTHING I wanted. Cause I'm just not that good yet. But I made one that had most of the features I wanted, and I'm passing months of research and testing on to you at a teensy weensy little cost.
Your Wingsong Navigation HUD has the following features:
SPEEDOMETER - tells you have fast you're going (meters per second)
ALTIMETER - tells you how high above sea level you are
COMPASS - tells you what direction you're headed
CRUISE/SPEED CONTROL - allows you to set your own speed and cruise at that speed without having to keep your finger on the keyboard (works in all modes of transportation EXCEPT for RIDES that require REZZING); excellent for regular moving around, using with Animation Overrides and attachments, flying, walking, running, etc.
Your speedometer, altimeter, and compass report information in white text to the far left of your screen to give you up to minute information without having to press buttons. The HUD itself is small and largely transparent so is not intrusive.
To use your cruise/speed control: type the words “/39” followed by the speed you wish to go in the chat window. The number “3” is the same as your normal WALK speed, so if you just want to stroll along normally type “/39 3” without the quotation marks. If you want to RUN at your normal running speed type “/39 5” without the quotation marks. We generally fly at 16 meters per second. To stop touch the large control panel at the bottom of your HUD.
The cruise/speed control panel on your Wingsong Navigation HUD is great for chatting with friends as you travel together either on foot or while wearing any WEAR ride that you attach to yourself. It is wonderful for those evening strolls along deserted highways and across the plains of Africa. Your fingers will thank you a thousand times over!
The cruise/speed control is NOT designed to give you an unfair advantage during competitive racing. It has a special little script buried deep inside that will SMACK you if you attempt to cheat with this thing.
Again, THE CRUISE/SPEED CONTROL WORKS WITH VIRTAUALLY ALL MODES OF TRANSPORTATION EXCEPT RIDING VEHICLES THAT REQUIRE REZZING.
The other thing I like to have when I'm doing major traveling is a good flight enhancer - so we're throwing in our FREE Wingsong Flight Enhancer HUD. I have it scooted up near the top. You can easily move it lower to read additional information displayed on hovertext.
COPY/MODIFY - make multiple copies, resize/retexture/recolor to your heart's content! We're including a FREE Wingsong Modify Box: a simple, easy to use tutorial to help folks learn how to copy and modify any item in their inventory with copy/mod perms; VERY easy to use, and you get to play with colored blocks! (REZ to use)

Even works for walking. I wish I had bought this years ago :)
Wonderfull!
It was exactly what I was looking for and the price is so cheap, then I could buy 3 of them for my officers. It works perfectly, I need mainly the altimeter to find my starbase in my starships. The compass helps me to know where I am and the speedometer shows me the velocity that my starships can go. I loved, thank you!
A small price to pay for the handiest thing in Second Life
The one thing that is sorely missing from Second Life controls; the ability to auto-run and auto-fly. It has been bugging me for years; not being able to fly while looking around and chatting at the same time. This little gadget makes navigating an absolute pleasure. Tip - bind the commands to some gestures and set up shortcut keys. Now I can finally set a slow amble pace and just aimlessly stroll through my favorite areas. Set a slow flight speed, and you can drift majestically through hard-to-fly areas while looking at the scenery. Not bad at all, I highly recommend people try this. Tip my hat to you, good sir!
