1. Inventory: once you've used them you can get rid of the folder and still retain the textures
2. Backup: Yeah it's a pain opening them but, it's a good way to have backups
3. Laziness: loading the MP is a pain in the butt and this makes it easier to have a unified set that loads into vendors, MM boards and the MP without having 3 different versions.
