You must have media enabled to use this item. Use the URL bar to drop in the link of your choice - try a movie or a playlist! Pressing the home icon will restart the original video the set came with. It's really just a simple device using Second Life's media on a prim, so there's no script to break. Unless there is a change to YouTube's page layout, it should continue to work correctly. It will begin playing when you log in or teleport near the TV, but you cannot watch simultaneously with a friend - UNLESS you both drop the same link into the URL bar at the same time. If you place it on the wall and it is just black, turn it around, that's not the screen! Most importantly, enjoy!
