- mesh fireworks
Very nice, but unfinished
Unlike most SL fireworks, these use texture animation on a complex object, not a particle system. This may sound like a bad idea, but the effect is really good, very classy. But there is a major issue: These are simply static objects that will repeatedly "explode" in the same way at the same place for all eternity. Now obviously that is not how fireworks work. To create a firework, you'll want/need to create a rocket that will go up and then rez one of these and add a script to them that will delete them before another explosion occurs, but here comes the catch: They have a huge delay between rezzing and the first explosion. So you will have to write your own texture animation script, too, without having the textures, which is kind of a pain. Obviously it can be done, but these should come as explosions ready to go. I don't see in what kind of scenario they could be used the way they come. Rez one then quickly delete it before the next explosion occurs? Weird. Beautiful, but weird.
These are so well done!!!
I LOVE these fireworks. I didn't think they'd be as amazing as they are, but I was wrong. If you're debating you should just get them. They're so well made, they look very realistic, you can change the colors easily, they are copy/mod... what more could you ask for? This really livened up some of my builds and makes SL have a very cinematic feel.
