Thank you for taking an interest to this product. This is just a little tool I made when I needed to measure the distance between 2 places and realised that placing several prims in between them was way too much work. So, I made this and figured it was stable enough to share with everyone!
How to use Teh Ruler in 3 very easy steps:
Firstly, make sure you have rez rights wherever you wish to use these! Now, sandbox friendly!
1. drag and drop the Source and Base prims in 2 different places in the same region - move them as necessary),
2. click the blue ball you just rezzed to get the initial point,
3. click the orange ball to get the actual distance, to a margin of error of 0.01cm, in local chat. (Only you can read it)
both prims, after clicking once, will self-delete after 120 seconds (by default) unless you manually reset the scripts. either way they're copiable so just use as many as you need!
Coming soon:
- if people want me to, i'll make a version that only detects the owner of the object. as it stands, it's probably fine as it is, since i doubt 2 people will use this in the same sim... but if they do, it's probably by design, or a very unlikely chance. so complain to me and i'll update your version to the owner-only version asap.
