contest score board full perm
Not a fully functional contest board. It's a score board for an external game.
Perhaps it's my fault for purchasing a product with such a minimal description. I was expecting this to be a contest board like you see at every club in SL for contests. "Best of whatever" This is not a contest board, this is a score board for an external game.
1.A contest board allows people to enter a contest and allows other people to vote for them on that board.
2.A score board takes information from an external source and presents it on a board.
As a score board it uses 53 prims since they use 1 prim per 6 characters...3 faces. If they would have used a prism they could have utilized 5 faces per prim and mesh displays allow for 8 faces or 16 characters per 1 prim. This not only reduces the prim size of the overall object but simplifies the coding.
For some reason they added all of the character indexing for the text images into the main script and also included more scripts for the actual display prims which imo just confuses the main board script. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/XyText_1.5
unfortunately it's not the example I was expecting or needing. The scripts are heavily commented in english but english does not seem to be this person's primary language so it's hard to understand.
