Sim building kits are something I've looked at creating before but have never had the courage to actually pursue it. Well, I'm diving in - this is (hopefully) the first of many. Please enjoy - and as always, these are copy/mod, so feel free to customize however you like, and if you bought this from marketplace, please leave a review ♥

Modding:
-Much like the majority of my items these are designed to be modded! In most cases this just applies to slight changes to the specular or retinting the diffuse. This time though it goes a step further.
--Want to change the animation speed? Fine - its pretty easy! Open the script in the object contents. The very last number in the script is the speed - change that to what you want. Higher is faster, lower is slower.
--Want to change the texture? Fine - that's pretty easy too! Well, mostly easy. This section is if you already are pretty creatively inclined but not technical enough to mesh your own roads. Basically, the texture's movement should flow from left to right in the image, and it fits 100% of the texture space, so as long as you do that, it will look great. Just keep in mind two things:
---one, the top layer is bi-directional. This means that whatever flows in one direction will always also be flowing from the other direction. Ie - even if you flip it it looks exactly the same as right side up. So that's great for smaller details bc you can give a bunch of quieter elements to create a bunch of aesthetically pleasing "noise". Not so good for foreground details though bc you will get those same elements fighting for attention.
---Two, the bottom layer is unidirectional. This means whatever you put on it will flow the way you expect - in a single direction. That's great for foreground details - less so for background details. Side note - add a 25% opacity solid black bg and a small white border on top of it. This will not only make your colors pop so much more, it will make sure the path is easy to follow.

Tinting:
-This item is grayscale! You can tint any color you like with roughly equal effectiveness to both layers or just one layer.
--Basic tinting: To tint an item, right click it, click "edit", then in the edit menu click the tab that says "Texture" then click the color underneath "Color", and you can select from any color you want there.
--Advanced tinting: To tint just a particular side of an item, right click it, click "edit", then touch the face you want to edit (it will select the face closest to your screen). If its hard to select the face you want - don't worry, just click the tiny left and right arrows underneath "edit linked" in the upper left side of the edit window, or try to pan the camera around where its easier to click it.

Everything else:
-For the extremely LI conscious, these have the default LI and size in the name of the objects.
-If you have trouble shrinking these down to very small sizes (such as a model) check to make sure its not too thin. If it is, just increase the height of it a bit and it should shrink.

Permissions:

I try to make all of my items as mod-friendly as possible! My logic for this decision is that if you buy something that is not modifiable, it is not really yours. If you buy it, it is yours. There are some exceptions, but generally - if it's by me, you can customize it
