Tsumami kanzashi are hair ornaments made of pinched silk that are traditionally worn by maiko (apprentice geisha) to decorate their hair for formal occasions. This set is a 3 piece set that includes the main maiko style hana kanzashi, a small mezashi with one flower, and a bridge of flowers over the mage (bun) at the back of the hairstyle.
This set with the slightly larger flowers in the hana kanzashi and would be worn by a somewhat more senior maiko (though a single bloom would be more senior), and the asagao/morning glory motif is appropriate for the summer months, especially August.
