Version 1 - Personal/Novelty Savings ATM with Optional Interest
This ATM is designed for personal use, small private groups, or fun novelty savings - like a virtual piggy bank that can earn interest. It’s not intended for operating a full public bank in Second Life.
Chat commands:
managerset avatarkey
• Allows you to set or change who the manager is. The manager needs to be present in the region when using this command.
report
• Gives the manager a full report of all avatar balances.
wdw amount
• Withdraw the specified amount from your balance (e.g., wdw 500).
apy amount
• Allows the manager to set the ATM’s APY. Example: apy 0.05 to set 5% annual yield. This is compounded and applied per hour. Use apy 0 to disable the interest feature.
close avatarkey
• Manager command: Sends the user their full balance (including any accrued interest) and closes their account.
Touch the ATM to get your balance. The manager will see additional information, including remaining account capacity.
The ATM regularly checks if its owner has enough L$ to cover all accounts plus accrued interest. If not, it sends the manager a chat alert every 60 seconds and turns the green band on the screen red. Pay the owner avatar enough L$ to resolve this.
First use: When rezzing the ATM in world, grant debit permissions when prompted (there will be two dialogs: one for payouts and one for solvency checks).
Using a dedicated alt avatar as the owner of this ATM is highly recommended for clear fund management.
For users:
• Touch the ATM for your balance and basic instructions.
• Deposit: Right-click the ATM and pay it any amount.
• Withdraw: Use the wdw command in chat.
• That’s all you need!
If the ATM runs out of memory for new accounts, it will refund deposits and notify the payer. It can handle thousands of accounts - if you need more, rez another ATM with a different owner.
Having this ATM rezzed in Second Life is a commitment! Please use it responsibly and do not misuse it to take people’s L$. To shut it down: Use “report” to see all balances, then either pay everyone manually (close command) or ask them to withdraw.
