Excellent quality, the UVs are fine
Was leery after reading previous review, but gave these ribbons a chance anyway.
The UV unwraps are actually really good and I had no problems projecting basic patterns onto the provided textures.
Satisfied with purchase. Do recommend!
Uh...well...
I've been looking at this set for quite a while now, wanting to buy it but shying away because of the huge price tag. It's hard to rationalize even if you break it down into what each bow is worth on their own. At approx. L$142 each, it's really a big investment unless you’re going to put bows on everything.
However after about a year finally I gave in. I tend to use bows often around the holidays and I was getting bored with the same old styles so I bought the set and hoped for the best.
The bows are nice, I like the shapes and the way they hang, the LOD is good as is the prim count BUT...and it’s a big one, you can’t use the maps provided to texture the bows with anything patterned.
What I mean by that is you can't apply a texture to the maps provided unless it is simply a plain colour with the very subtest of textures or it seems that you may be able to get away with a striped pattern. Anything else and it looks stretched and weird.
Perfect for folks that want to simply tint the bows, or as mentioned use a striped pattern or something subtle but don’t expect to be putting Christmas trees or bats all over these bows, it just won’t work.
I’m proficient in texturing and wanted a specific look, so unfortunately I won’t be using these bows for much. Maybe the creator will update with better maps or lower the price at some point because it’s really a shame not to use items that cost a lot and look nice otherwise.
