Everything you need to do with the studio you can do with the hud, it allows you complete control over it and assures you that no external hand can mess with your work. Not to mention that you can use it in all rezz allowed sims that you visit, just like that.

Portable is the magic word.

The Studio is just ONE prim (more than enough, believe me) so, no matter if you leave it permanently at home or you want to rezz it in someone else's place, you will hardly impact the prim count.

It can be used both to take pics "au naturel" with sl backgrounds or to take pics with a flat background to be exported to pc and worked in photoshop... i use it for both; the studio can become completelly invisible and be used to take pics on natural sl backgrounds, but believe me, photocollages are SO much easier to do using the studio with a flat backdrop to create the element images.
