The stolly, inspired by the Alvis Stalwart.

Now updated to version 1.3.

An amphibious 6 wheel drive truck. There are few amphibs in SL, and fewer still as striking as the stolly.

I've *really* tried to make something worth owning, and to meet the standards that I'd expect to see in a vehicle. So you'll find that the stolly is RL scaled, accurately but sensibly modelled with appropriate physical modelling too. It's 100% homebrew mesh, painted and scripted, something that not many SL vehicles can claim :)

Amphibious! Drives on land and water, it's not fussy.

It's just 47 LI, and only 11 LI as far as the physics engine is concerned.

Hand built specifically for SL. With custom LOD models for the major parts it will still look like a stolly even at your maximum draw distance with the LOD factor debug setting set to 1.

Minimally scripted but feature rich, plenty of moving parts! All of the scripts except the engine script are mod perm so you can mod as you please.

Suspension can be fitted to the stolly, it's not fitted "out of the box" since not everybody will want to use it. But it's nifty and real easy to install! The 6 wheels will independently animate as you move over objects/terrain.

Projector lights, see your way in the dark by using the advanced lighting model in your viewer's preferences.

Particle effects in the water, and tyre mark ribbon particle effects on land.

Moving/working parts: 4 wheels that steer, an animated steering wheel, and active brake and indicator lights plus lots of others.

A passenger seat that can be locked and can eject an unwanted passenger.

A guest mode that allows someone else to take the driver's seat.

Sounds from a Rolls Royce B81 straight 8 engine.

A joy to drive in mouselook cos of that animated dashboard :)

AO/UV maps provided and PSD files available on dropbox.

The majority of textures are 512x512 or lower, which is sufficiently detailed but easier on your viewer's limited texture memory.

The core engine script has NOT been compiled in mono as there is a known issue with mono and physical objects. This has been done to avoid the wild spinning thing that can happen when crossing sim borders :)

Oh yeah, copy and mod. Say no to anything else!

Amongst the 1.3 updates are a better dashboard (and HUD to match), another camera position for *really* steep terrain, a simple fuel system and a few other smaller tweaks.

Unstoppable

I have named mine the HoneyBadger because it does not care. As long as the road or terrain is wide enough, it will go through it or over it. An amazing amount of clickies and detail on the craft. great hud that can be hidden and quickly accessed.

Only negative I can think of is a lack of cruise control, but I'm often having fun offroading and changing gears for inclines or being silly with her to worry about this feature too much.

Stolly with cruise control on the road?

First of all, I so far love the Stolly. Modded it for GTFO, so far, so good. Only flaw so far, has the "cruise control" in boat mode, but not on the road? I hate having to keep my finger on that forward button -- yes, I know... Can I get a Stolly with cruise control, so it "drives like a boat?" Thanks for a wonderful amphib!
