Just what it advertises
Exactly what I needed, like another reviewer said I spent a s*** ton of time "trying" to figure out lsl wiki and such about nested dialogs, to no avail. This was easy to use and well commented. Don't get it if you know nothing of scripting, but if you are like me and NOT a scripter BUT a fiddler who knows just a bit , this will save you time and headaches. Worth every penny.
After purchasing on 11-18-09 at 1000L I received a box with two scripts and a brief notecard. Expected much more with detailed reasoning behind each action not just a few commented out lines.
A simple, easy to understand means of making nested dialog menus.
I would be the last person to call myself a scripter; I mostly get things to do what I need them to do by altering someone else's scripts. "Okay, this one triggers the way I need it to, but it does this, and I need it to do that. SO, I'll just substitute this call for that one... copy, paste...voila!" And, most of the time, this works, and is sufficient.
However, the whole nested dialog thing had me baffled. The forums have a couple of WAY complicated examples, the wiki is equally baffling to a non-scripter, and so on. So, after spending many hours trying to figure it out on my own, I finally decided to take a risk and buy this.
And, you know what? Just a few minutes after receiving it, I had a working nested dialog script that did exactly what I needed. I was a little concerned that, since the script advertised here is a tutorial, and is heavily commented, it might be a bit difficult to wade through, but, to my surprise, it also came with an uncommented copy, which is the one I used, and which also showed me the one "simple" thing I was missing in creating my own nested dialogs.
Oh, and I was also a little worried that it might be one of those forum rip-off scripts that you see so often, where the only thing the seller did was copy a script from the forums and package it up for sale. This isn't one of those, either. How do I know? Because I looked at all of them. :P This is an original, well written, and easy to understand script.
I can't speak to how well this would work out for a total scripting newb, but if you are in the same boat I was in, for instance, you have dealt with a few non-nested dialog scripts successfully, but are baffled when it comes to nested ones, buy this. For me, it was TOTALLY worth the money, and I wish I had bought it before I spent all that time trying to figure it out on my own, because now I know how to do it, and it only took minutes. Time is money, after all.
