(Challis) TPFX (BOXED)(DEMO) Version 1
Ever thought that your teleports are boring? Tried the standard teleport poofers
to give them some flair? Only to marvel at the glimpse of the particle texture
after watching the dreaded grey squares while it loaded slowly.
Well...
Try our TPFX avatar attachment! No particles! No grey squares that load after you
have teleported!
The teleport effect comes in three parts;
- The main attachment which is made of normal prims. They animate before and after
the teleport.
- The TPFX HUD. This holds up to 12 landmarks and folds away neatly into the corner
of your viewer when its not being used.
- Colour HUD. You only need to wear this when you are selecting the colour of your
teleport effects.
The HUD and attachment will ask for permissions to control, animate, and teleport
your avatar. The teleport FX will work in most no script areas.
There is No need to do anything other than click the destination on the HUD.
When you teleport using the HUD the teleport effects appear and animate, your
avatar sinks into the ground (as though its going through a portal below), then the
effects fade. The script TP's you to your destination and your avatar rises up inside
the TPFX that appears after the TP.
This takes a few short moments for all the animations to complete so please do not
spam the HUD with clicks. The TP happens about 1.5 seconds after the initial
teleport effect has ended - to account for any minor region lag.
*** The DEMO version is no mod and the HUD only supports one landmark (to our
inworld store). The attachment has hovertext on each prim. ***
--- To setup the HUD with landmarks ---
Right click > "Add" - the HUD will show at bottom center of your viewer.
Say "Yes" to the permission request.
Right click and edit the HUD to place it where you want. The landmark list will
show above the TPFX HUD. You can rotate it so the list is below.
Open your inventory and drag some landmarks into the contents tab of the build window.
You can put in up to 12 landmarks.
Click on the main hud button to show/hide the list of landmarks.
It comes with one landmark to our store included as a quick example. You can delete
this if you wish.
Click a button which has floating text over it. The list is alphabetical and to change
the floating text just rename the landmarks inside the HUD.
* If you have issues putting landmarks into it while it is attached as HUD you may
need to rez it somewhere instead.
--- To setup the TPFX attachment ---
Wear it by using "add" from your right click menu in your inventory. It attaches
to "Avatar Center".
Turn on transparencies by pressing CTRL+ALT+T.
You will see the TPFX attachment is at waist height.
Right click and edit the attachment and move it down to your feet so you can just
about see it above the floor/ground.
Press CTRL+ALT+T again to hide transparencies.
--- Colour HUD ---
You only need to wear this when changing the colour of the TPFX. Though the
attachment is mod so you can just as easily do it the old fashioned way.
There are some presets and a simple colour mixer which will update the colour of the
TPFX attachment as soon as you select a colour.
To save a colour to the custom pallet you click on one of the "V" buttons.
TIP: Pale colours work very well. The white of the glow gives way to the lighter hues
at the edges of the effect.
