Thames Motor Barge Nr.211 'ASTER' Version 1.3b [15 November 2021]

After a period on the blocks back at the Yard refitting to Mk II standard 'ASTER' has rejoined the fleet.

Unlike her sister ship 'Tudor Rose', ASTER still retains the primitive wheelhouse originally fitted during her days under sail and the coal-fired stove below deck in her foc'sle cabin.

Simple to operate: use the HUD to start the motor, put the motor into idle or to stop the motor, and to moor. Steer using the keyboard's Left and Right arrow keys. Change up or down through forward or reverse motor gears using the keyboard's PageUp and PageDown keys.

Under load (choose from hay, sand, stone, rubble, coal or manure, all typical Thames barge loads) the vessel sinks down in the water in prototypical fashion. Loads are controlled by the HUD.

[Please ensure that you have un-ticked the 'Advanced Lighting Model' option on your 'Preferences' Graphics tab because the barge's holds are full depth. This means they are below the default Second Life waterline; un-checking the Advance Lighting Model removes (hides actually) the water which would otherwise show within the holds.]
