These flats are jeweled and slashed to give a historic style impression. Elizabethan shoes for the upper classes could be very decorated, with the leather slashed, and the vamp lined with fabric to puff out over the toes. High heels were just beginning to be in vogue at the last quarter of the 16th century, but the uppers looked the same as the flat styles. These are fairly simple compared to some of the historical models. Wearing them under a long skirt, they may rarely be seen. I hope they make you feel beautiful, just the same.
