This is the funkiest airplane in SL's skies. It's a cross between a kid's soapbox car and a Sopwith Camel. It even sounds like a Sopwith Camel as it sputters to life and roars gently into the air. It doesn't look like it can fly, but it's surprisingly peppy and highly maneuverable. And FUN.

The body of your airplane is made of the finest fir plywood and the wings and tail surfaces are clad with top-grade aluminum siding. The oversized wheels, designed specifically for soft landings, were selected from vintage Schwinn bicycles. The instrument panel contains an array of precision gauges, guaranteed to inspire confidence in this engineering marvel. It even has a rotating bubblegum lamp on its fuselage for easy visibility at night.

Just sit to start the engine and get its polished wood propeller spinning. Then take off by holding down the PgUp key on your keyboard. Fly forward, backward, and turn with your arrow keys. When you want to land, hold down the PgDn button and settle to the ground. Your Box Airplane will land itself gently when it senses that you are within 2 meters of a surface below it, and will turn its sputtering engine off again.

Don't worry about crashing, either. If your Box Airplane collides with anything, it backs off a little bit and climbs a few meters to get past the obstacle, giving you time to take a different path.

This is a one-person, owner-only aircraft, but you CAN set it for anyone to fly --- if you trust them not to fly off into the sunset with it. To switch to ANYONE mode, you just left-click on the steering wheel and hold the mouse button down for a long, slow count of at least three seconds. (Do the same thing to toggle back to OWNER mode later.)
