The Cameo service comprises three table set, one for dining, dessert and coffee and have been recreated after the Cameo service commissioned by Catherine the Great of Russia to the french manufacture of sevres,

This service made from 1777 to 1778 in france became the most expensive and largest of the history of manufacture of Sevres, it's design, unique for the Empress of Russia, was designed in pure neoclassicism style and it's particularly exquisite decoration depicts a floral theme over a turquoise blue background among which is included different varieties of medallions representing Greco-Roman inspired cameos (some of which were actually carved-like) and finally gilding throughout the entire service for representing arabesques, palm leafs, mascarons...

Being the material chosen for the fabrication of the pieces soft paste as it was more suitable for the design, change of temperatures were a breakage risk while put to use, that did not stop them to deliver an complete dining service, including soup plates.
