After a series of 3 commodes made by Leleu and commanded for the bed chambre of the Princesse de Condé at the Palais Bourbon, Paris in 1773
This chest of drawers, topped with a plaque of marble griotte lavishly decorated with a profusion of gilt bronze mounts and marquetry in several precious kinds of woods represents the taste for neo-classicism in the second half of 18th century France.
