Some residents whilst believing that SL is just a game may use copybot or other means to duplicate creator's work without understanding the serious implications of their actions.
Copyright infringement is a crime. Some people may think it is a joke to copy others work, but in many countries there is a law against electronic copying that comes in the same category as piracy.
I've produced a set of full permission textures to put up in your store to educate people about using copybot - their actions could lead to them being found and prosecuted, punishable by their country's copyright laws - leading to a fine or possible imprisonment.
These are warning posters, but not necessarily a deterrent; there are some people who believe that they can't be traced (NB there are professionals who can find anyone for an affordable fee) I know that many store owners are now willing to pool money in to catch any offenders, even just putting one behind bars will help make other potential offenders think twice.
There are two messages:
'Copyright infringement is a serious offence punishable by law. Anyone using copybot to copy and redistribute items will be found and prosecuted under the copyright laws of their country, resulting in a fine or possible imprisonment.'
'Thank you for supporting the creators! The designers thank you, the customer, for supporting their hard work to keep SL fresh with new and innovative content. Please continue your support by buying authentic products only and by helping to report the piracy of copyrighted materials.'

These are great textures..i have already passed this out to other creators....we as a collective must be the ones to stamp out and get rid of the scurge that is copybotters.....cant rely on LL to do that for us anymore. The wording isnt rude or in anyway cause alarm..its simply a warning and appreciation to our legitimate customers who keep us going. The only offense that can be taken is by a copybotter.
