In ye olde days, before European settlers had colonised the North American continent where pumpkins are native, during the Fall season it was not infrequently that they used vegetables from the turnip family including Swedes to carve little faces in.
Sure, we have pumpkins now... But they're not exactly historically present before the 1700s.

I really like these little turnip lanterns! They look awesome in my park during the fall, and sense they are copy and mod enabled I can rez as many as I need and resize them to fit!
