CROOKES RADIOMETER

Invented in 1873, the Radiometer has no practical use and is an interesting "Scientific Toy".

This SL version updated to mesh in January 2017. Now with a land impact reduced from 4 to 1! This item behaves much as the real thing, in that the more Sun there is, the faster the Vanes rotate. Unlike the real thing though, you can't block the Sun to stop the rotation. If I get time, maybe I'll work out a simulation for this function.

Why a Radiometer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well I used to see these in an Opticians window as a kid and was totally fascinated by them. I finally found and bought myself one in about 1990 and the unfortunately it got smashed in 2010. The SL one is a bit more robust :-)
