the money is an illusion, just like in real life. but when you click on the coin tube, a rezzer starts producing coins. the tube fills up very steadily with gold coins and other pricey knick-knacks, until the coins age long enough and expire, poofing off into a cloud of empty dreams of shopping malls and consumer goods.
