This is an elegant example of a simple 3-gear assembly. You can wear it (attaches by default to spine) or rez it (has only 2 LI at size packaged).

The gears spin endlessly in opposite directions. The smaller gears spin at different speeds than the larger gear, as happens with gears in real life.

The assembly gives off little puffs of grayish steam. The owner can toggle the steam off/off by clicking the gear assembly anywhere.
