MEGA Scavenger hunt!!

This game is very light on memory use and allows almost unlimited items to be used! I tested it with 4000 and it didn't crash but realistically, to keep it from being slow to find the items on the notecard, I'd suggest staying under 1000. It also has VERY light load on the sim and can be used without concern about creating lag.

It's very easy to setup and use. The only caveat is you have to have mod rights on any item you use in the hunt as you must be able to change the description field of the item to a number which matches the line number on the setup notecard that describes the object. Included is a notecard reader that you can drop your setup notecard in, touch and it will spit out a list of the object name for that item number to check the setup. Then just put the "Drop in each item" script into each object. All items must be set to the same group as the game server as this is checked to make sure people can not cheat from a game setup by another group.

When they touch an object in the game, the HUD records this object (and only for the user who touches it if there are a group of people standing there), tells them the object name and adds a digit to their overall score. If they touch this same object again, they are given a warning message and nothing is added to their score. The HUD can store their game progress over multiple sessions and at the end of each session they "upload" their new score to the server. This is only allowed if the HUD is 'registered' to this same group and 'session' when it was initialized. The players actual group or the group the HUD is set to doesn't matter so the players don't have to be group members or be wearing any specific tag for it to work. They can also reset their HUD and start over if they want, which uploads the newest list/notecard from the server and sets the HUD to your group/session. They are given a double warning menu so it is very hard to reset by accident. All chat is only on their screen to avoid chatter, except when they click "check" which tells their progress/score in open chat with their name so their friends can hear it. The last comand for the players is a "list" command that displays in their own chat window a list of the items they have found so far to compare to the notecard they have in their inventory.

The server displays the top 10 players and updates their score, moving them up the list as they better their score. Users can click the server to get a copy of the HUD and the notecard with the items in the hunt. I've included another "HUD Giver" object to distribute the HUD's as well, that can be placed in other locations around the sim. The server memory can store 1000 players names and scores and has a command to print all these out in the owners chat window. These can then be copied to a notecard or pasted into main chat to display a complete list of people and their scores. There is also a command for the owner to reset the server and erase all the names and scores, also with a double warning menu. The players HUD score has to be "uploaded" and reset on the same sim the server is placed on but the items can be anywhere on the grid as long as the items have the same group name.

To update/change the hunt, replace the setup notecard in the server, change the server description field name and then reset the server. This zero's out the scores and will force the users to reset their HUD's to upload their score. When they reset their HUD, their HUD score is set to zero and the HUD is updated with the latest group/version numbers (from server description field) and is then automatically loaded with the newest hunt list and owner is handed the newest hunt list as well. Of course they can just grab a new HUD if they want instead of resetting the one they have. You do NOT need to change the notecard in the HUD or mess with the HUD Giver objects, this is done on the fly for you..

The HUD, notecard reader and the "found items" are sold full perms (scripts no mod) while the server and HUD vendors are sold as mod/copy/no trans and those scripts are no mod/copy/no trans. There is a box of scripts included which can be used to make you own objects if you don't like the default ones for some reason or to customize the HUD for your game. I've included full perm textures too.

Hope you have fun!

Definitely worth the L$! Fairly easy to set up. Like that I can choose/design my own hunt items. HUDs couldn't be any simpler to set up and use. Great product. Thank you.
