ELLEN GEE’s Presence Detection System (PDS)

WATCH IT WORK AT THE STEPFORD LOUNGE!

The Presence Detection System (PDS) consists of 2 devices:

The PDS Display which shows the number of avatars in a certain named area.

The PDS Beacon which scans a certain area and reports to the PDS Display. You can place as many as you like over your place and name them in their object description, for example House, Pool, Garden etc. While there is no actual limit on how many beacons can be deployed, the display can only show up to 10.

The PDS Display doesn’t need any configuration, however, if you change the setup of your beacons it is advised to reset the display. You can do that by long-touching (> 3 seconds) the display. The back plate of the display can be made transparent by touching it.

The PDS Beacon has 2 configuration items in its config notecard: The scan rate (number of seconds between scans), and the scan range (96 m maximum). Make sure the scan ranges don’t overlap.

The results are shown on the display in alphabetical order. If you want your own custom order, you can add a prefix to the PDS Beacons' names with a $ as delimiter. Everything before the delimiter will not be displayed. Example: House, Pool, Garden will result in the display order of Garden, House, Pool. But 10$Pool, 20$Garden, 30$House will result in Pool, Garden, House.
