A Rococo Louis xv clock and its "cul de lampe" in corne bleu.
The case decorated with exquisite gilt bronze mounts protecting the delicate inlays, these represent the peak of french craftsmanship in rocaille design, sinuous foliage, rockeries, and acanthus scrolls extend from the shoulder to the arched feet.
the same matching mounts found on the console, or "cul de lampe" in french used to hang the clock on the wall before the spreading of the cartels d'applique.
The clock is fully functional, the hours and minutes can be adjusted and an 18th century strikes every hour and half.
the console can be separated and used for other purposes.
