The Simple Book system is designed for simple 2d style books and magazines that are to be worn as a HUD by the avatar.
You can create as many as you want and send them to as many people as you want.
Here's how it works:
The textures for each article in the book or magazine are to be designed so there are 2 pages on each texture and go as such:
1 - 2
3 - 4
5 - 6 etc...
If someone clicks on 4 they will be taken to pages 5 - 6 if they click on 1 they will be taken to 5 - 6 as well. This makes it so 1 prim can act as a toggle for back and forward page turning.
Simply add your article textures inside the object. Textures are displayed as listed in the inventory of the object. Might want to use alphabetical numbering.
Simple to Use and Does What It Says
As the creator explains, if you want to have a left and a right page, you will need to merge two Portrait snapshots. However, you can also display a single Landscape snapshot if you want to create a center-fold. The simplest way of merging two snapshots is to use Microsoft Paint (of all things). Here's how:
1. Open Paint
2. If the canvas area is bigger than your screen, click on View and zoom out and click on Home again
3. Now move your pointer/cursor to the middle of the right side of the canvas and drag it to the right until the whole canvas is wider than A4 landscape proportions
4. Now save the whole thing using a title of your choosing
5. Exit Paint
6. Re-open Paint and click on File and select Open
7. Open the document you just saved
8. Repeat 2 if nec
9. Towards the top left of your screen, you should see a picture of a clipboard with the word ‘Paste’ under it
10. Click on the triangle below the word paste and select ‘Paste from’
11. Select and open the portrait snapshot you want to use as the left page
12. Repeat 10
13. Select and open the portrait snapshot you want to use as the right page
14. This snapshot will land on top of the first snapshot
15. Left click and grab the second snapshot and drag it to the right of the first snapshot
16. Align the two snapshots
17. Don’t worry if there is some white space next to the second snapshot – you can deal with it later
18. Repeat 4
19. Exit Paint
20. Re-open paint and click on File and Select Open
21. Re-open the double paged document you have just saved
22. Repeat 2 if nec
23. At the top of the screen, click on the box above the word select
24. From the top left corner of the first snapshot, drag a selection box around the two pictures and stop before you enter white space
25. At the top of the screen, click on the word ‘Crop’
26. Now Save and exit
27. Job done!
Boon - You can upload two snapshots for the price of one!
