Avatar sizes differ, for this reason you should first adjust the position of your avatar in the vehicle. After adjusting your sit positions, if your still not happy and feel that your avatar doesn't seem to fit properly, then you can try resizing your car to better fit your avatar, this adjustment can be found in the cars menu.
