Wingsong Rezzer: Chair Box
The Wingsong Rezzer: Chair is an excellent way to sit out a few chairs or showcase your REZZED builds while utilizing precious prim space sparingly. Although designed specifically for rezzing chairs, you can essentially use this system for just about anything you want to rez out on a temporary basis. Do NOT attempt to rez out huge or prim-fat items from this rezzer. (See NOTES at bottom of page for more info).
Quality chair rezzers can cost quite a bit. With very little editing skills and possibly a bit of trial and error, you can place just about any of your COPY/MOD chairs into your Wingsong Rezzer: Chair. Here's how:
1 - REZ your chair from your inventory onto the ground.
2 - Open the EDIT tool by RIGHT CLICKING on the chair and selecting EDIT.
3 - Insure that the chair is level. Some chairs are not aligned at the time of building. In this case, you might have to manually rotate your chair to make it level. Don't worry about rotation of the chair.
4 - Build a basic cube. By default it will be rotated at 0,0,0. Do not change the rotation. MOVE the cube under your chair's seat to the point where the top of your cube is lined up with the seat of the chair and it is generally centered with the chair.
5 - If you are unsure which direction your chair will be sitting, sit on the cube. Make sure the chair is facing the same way.
6 - STRETCH your Cube down to make the bottom flush with the bottom of your chair.
7 - In the TEXTURE TAB, set your cube's transparency to 99%.
8 - LINK the chair with the cube, keeping the cube as your root prim (that is, click on the chair, then the cube).
9 - Rename your cube/chair to something you can remember; it might be helpful to include the word TEMP somewhere in the name.
10 - Almost half way down the page on the OBJECT TAB of the Edit tool you'll see four prim states: Locked, Physical, Temporary, and Phantom. Check the box to the left of TEMPORARY. Take your chair into your inventory immediately; otherwise it will disappear forever within a minute or so.
11 - REZ out the Wingsong Rezzer: Chair. Open the CONTENT TAB using the Edit tool; you'll see the script called "REZZER Engine." Drag your TEMP chair into the CONTENT TAB.
12 - CLICK on the Wingsong Rezzer: Chair to rez out your chair. You will have about a minute to sit on it. Once you sit on the chair it will remain rezzed until you stand up. When you stand up it will disappear.
13 - Many chairs will sit perfectly the first time you modify them using these steps. However, if your chair does not sit quite right you can always modify it by adjusting the height or position of your cube. Be sure that the top of the cube is always flush with the seat of the chair. Do NOT adjust the rotation or angle of the cube, only the chair before linking it with the cube.
14 - We're including a FREE Wingsong Rezzer SAMPLE: Chair, which features our Wingsong Empire Chair NonScripted to serve as an example of how this rezzer works. Your main rezzer will be empty, so all you have to do is drag your chair to be rezzed into the Content Tab.
NOTE: Temporary mesh items can be used in the rezzer but they will render their original Land Impact usage. Regular prims and sculpted prims set to temporary will not utilize any Land Impact.
Another NOTE: Because of how rezzers use sim resources, I do not recommend having a whole lot of these kinds of rezzers and chairs set out. Like many things in SL and RL, used in moderation and with discretion they are very useful; overuse will cause lag and possibly some measure of grumpiness.
One more NOTE: I strongly discourage you from using this REZ system for large builds. While it is possible to link many items together and place it into this rezzer, doing so will likely cause some measure of disruption to overall performance. The rezzer is designed specifically for small, temporary builds and to showcase builder's low prim items.
