Zabuza is a former ANBU of the village of Kiri. Deserter, he officiates as a mercenary and assassin for the highest bidder. Zabuza can be considered as the first great opponent of Naruto. He is reputed to be particularly cruel with his enemies and to have massacred all of its promotion Gennin which earned him the nickname "the demon Zabuza." This nickname is a direct reference to Hattori Hanzo, "the devil", who fought with a ferocity unheard and never gave up (this is the description by Kakashi ninja of Kiri in the second volume).
