**PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

► Avatar UUIDs are PUBLIC information, and there are many FREE ways to find them. Most Second Life viewers show avatar UUIDs in the Profile view! Simply search for any avatar name... and voila, there is the UUID as well.... which means you may NOT need my item.

If you have an older viewer or a troublesome viewer that does NOT display avatar UUIDs in profiles, my Avatar UUID finder can be helpful.

Please note that NO scripted avatar UUID/key finder can be guaranteed to find UUIDs for 100% of avatars out there, due to technical reasons within SL itself (new avatar keys are not immediately searchable, for example, and LL is often running maintenance that can cause problems). Because of the way that UUIDs are stored in LL, it is difficult to find the UUID of an Avatar who is not ONLINE and IN THE SAME REGION AS YOU AND YOUR SCRIPTED OBJECT. We sometimes have to depend on third-party databases of UUIDs, which by nature cannot be 100% up to date every second of the day.

Scripters or other SL residents often need to find the unique "key" for Avatars.
This item makes it super easy.

Other "finders" out there can find the key of Avatars who touch, OR a name typed in Chat;
the Avatar UUID Finder II does BOTH.

1. Rez the Finder.
2. Any avatar can touch the Finder to see their UUID spoken in Local Chat.
3. You (the Owner) can use a special chat command to find anyone's UUID
(even if they are offline, or not in the same Sim/Region).
(this works about 90% of the time, but depends on 3rd party databases that I do NOT control!)

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

UUID = Universally Unique Identifer.

Every avatar in SL has their own unique, unchanging UUID (key).

It's OK for someone else to know your UUID! They really can't do any harm with this public knowledge.

The Finder uses LSL scripting and a remote check to a public (non-Linden) name/key database. Results are VERY good, but very rarely the remote database may be offline for updates (in which case TOUCH will still work, but chat command will not). Brand new Avatars (less than a few days old) may also not be in the public database yet.
