Introducing Bandor Builds Prefabs

Includes 2 versions of the BED

Bandor Builds Prefabs are made with your end products and your build process/workflow in mind.
Our goal at Bandor Builds is to make it easy for you to produce amazing results. We want you to be delighted using our products and your customers delighted buying yours. Some of the things we do to help you include:

- 100% custom designed, not re-purposed prefabs bought online and tweaked to work.
- Wood pieces are made to appear seamless and oriented with the grain of 2D wood textures in one direction (horizontal) and scaled to match. This makes it so your job is easier to apply a wood grain texture that works for all parts.
- Wood, metal and cloth are always separated into their own parts with their own UV maps and AOs
- AO's are oriented consistently and scaled appropriately.
- UV Maps are scaled, rotated and aligned to make it easy for you to create textures for your objects
- Low Poly with Physics when needed
- Objects are linked in a logical way with parts group together to make using Texture Changers easier to work with
- Blinn-phong Ambient Occlusion (AO) textures provided for all parts
- PBR AO Materials for all parts which allows you to create custom textures from 2D images while preserving AOs... PHOTOSHOP and GIMP not needed!!!!

What are Blinn-Phong Materials

Blinn-Phong is the original type of textures/materials used in Second Life. They have 3 separate textures: Diffuse (the main color and style image), Normal (provides bumpiness), and Specular (provides shininess). They are the "old" or "Legacy" method of texturing objects now that PBR Materials are available in Second Life.

PBR Materials

PBR stands for Physically Based Rendering and is an exciting new way to do material-based texturing in Second Life. To see PBR materials, you must use a PBR capable viewer. PBR Materials include: a base 2d image, tint, ambient occlusion, metallic map, roughness map, emmissive map and normal map, all in one material object. You can work with it as a single material with all of those parts or modify any of the underlying parts. You can achieve true reflections and a much better look than ever before.

What are PBR AO Materials?

This is something we made up. It is a PBR material that has a solid white base color image, white tint and the AO is embedded in the metallic roughness texture. So, you can simply change the Base Color image with a seamless 2D image or tint to get a GORGEOUS result that preserves the AO! No flat textures! No need for Photoshop, Gimp, Substance Painter or any other tools. You can do it all directly in Second Life.

You may use our prefab products in Second Life only. You may not distribute them full perm or as is. You must texture them and/or add animations, or include them as part of your build or product. You cannot just take them, put your name on them and resell them. You can release them as either COPY YES/TRANS NO, or COPY NO/Trans Yes, but you may NOT release them with both COPY and TRANS yes. You can sell, give away, or do whatever you want to with them, provided you comply with this license.

The Bandor Builds Prefabs come preloaded with PBR materials that include the AO for each part and a solid white base color. This allows you to either TINT the base color or apply a seamless 2D image as the base color image. This is like magically doing all of the work of Method 1, but doing it in Second Life. The AO (ambient occlusion) texture is INSIDE the Metallic Roughness image, which is technically an Ambient Occlusion - Metallic - Roughness image. It blends 3 grayscale images, one for Ambient Occlusion, one for Metallic and one for Roughness into ONE image (AO is on the Red channel, Roughness on the Green channel and Metallic is on the Blue channel). You don't need to worry about any of that as it is done for you.

Includes the Personal Use edition of our PBR Materials Texture Changer System and is setup to use it already.
