This is a couple scripts I wrote that will allow you to change textures of your mesh objects or prims. You can assign them by face number to be specific about what face gets certain textures. Mesh is treated differently usually a rigged character or just a mesh object sculpt like a coffee cup will be treated as a single face. So as long as you assign materials in your external editor that gives each part of your mesh creations a new face number you'll be able to assign multiple textures to your mesh creations.
The script comes with clear notes on how to edit the code and where to modify it with your commands. It works by chat command example /0 Bodytexture
is how a command would look. You can also talk to this script by object to object. So for example if you have a HUD and create a simple touch start script and do a llSay(0, "Bodytexture"); you can then change texture by a simple button and add it to your HUD.
The other script included will tell you what face you touch on a object so you can assign it texture.
This script would probably be most useful to those who want to just simply apply a tattoo to the body texture but need code to apply tattoo textures. But when you don't want to wear the tattoo you simply do command to switch back to your original body texture. Other uses would be to change out colors of different textures you painted and quickly apply them with this script. Since it has link message you can easily add your commands like above example to use as a button on your hud or a hud you're building for a product.
