Unpacker Script for Vendors
This script is designed to help you easily package and distribute items to your customers in Second Life. When placed inside a vendor object, it will automatically give all the contents of the object to the buyer in a neatly organized folder. The folder name is dynamically generated based on the **description** of the vendor object, making it easy to customize and personalize the packaging for each sale.
✅ Key Features
- **Easy Unpacking:** When a customer touches the vendor object, the script will give them all the items (except the script itself) contained within the object’s inventory, neatly placed in a folder named after the object’s description.
- **Automatic Folder Creation:** The folder created will be named according to the description of the vendor object. This makes it easy to use for multiple products, as the folder name will automatically update based on the vendor's description.
- **Simple to Use:** Just place the script inside the vendor object, and ensure the contents (scripts, textures, models, animations, etc.) are in the vendor's inventory. The script will handle the rest when the customer touches the object.
- **No Additional Configuration Needed:** The script works out-of-the-box with no need for complicated setup or adjustments.
✅ Permissions
- **COPY/TRANSFER:** This script is sold with **Copy/Transfer** permissions, which means you can freely copy and transfer it to other objects. However, the script **cannot be modified** by the user.
- **Important:** To comply with Linden Lab’s copyright terms, **do not sell items with this script included as Copy/Transfer**. When using this script in your own vendor or item for sale, you must set the script to **No Transfer** and ensure that only the final product is given to customers with **Copy** or **Modify** permissions (depending on your desired usage).
- **No Modification:** The script is **No Modify**. This means users cannot change or alter the script itself.
✅ How It Works
1. Place the script in your vendor object and add your items (scripts, textures, models, etc.) to the vendor’s inventory.
2. Customize the **description** of the vendor object to set the name of the folder that will be sent to the buyer.
3. When a customer touches the vendor, the script will give them all the contents inside the object (except the script itself) in a folder named after the object’s description.
4. The customer will receive a neatly organized folder in their inventory, ready to use.
✅ Important Notes
- **Do not leave the script with Copy/Transfer permissions** in items that you plan to sell. Change the script's permissions to **No Transfer** before listing items for sale.
- The script is designed to be used **only in vendors or sales boxes**. It is not intended for resale, and distributing the script as Copy/Transfer violates Linden Lab’s policies.
- Always test the unpacker in your own vendor to ensure that it works as expected before selling or distributing items to customers.
