Water is not necessary, and as the server has a 20 meter radius, you can have more than one type on your sim!
If you want to join this fun addition to our system, you will need to purchase a DFS Fishing HUD (linked below)
Please note - you may fish anywhere on an official DFS sim, without owning a server, including Main Store location, & DFS RP Community sims, like Garden Falls.

There are no instructions as how to install this item:
- Is it a 20 meter Range (as shown on the pic) or 20 Meter radius as in the details? Both are very different.
- Is the 20 meter radius measured from the center of the server or the edge?
- Can fresh and salt water servers overlap? If yes what are the consequences?
I started looking into fishing, hosting tournaments in particular but there are comments in the Fishing game forum gives me pause now. I did purchase a second hand fresh water server and created a new fishing zone and now this saltwater server to provide both options but I noticed there are very few tournaments being hosted and one has to ask why... and while I have zero experience with DFS fishing, I would have to say that the comments and negative sentiment about the system I am hearing in private, is most likely a contributing factor. Of course there is also the 3k cost for each server and the L$300 one time use only Fishing Catch Contest Board and for the Fishing Tournament thing... That is very pricey for many people. So if either the costs were lowered or the number of uses increased, I feel that more people would host tournaments and contests. Frankly I think the Catch Contest should be unlimited use and I am sure if it was, more people would buy them and host contests. I think the system should also include Grid wide Leader Boards and Sim/Parcel Leader Boards and perhaps tournaments could be sponsored by DFS with DFS items up for grabs as prizes which would feature new prizes every week... Anyway, as I see it, there appears to be very little ROI so I suggest a redesign of the fishing system to make it more interactive and more user and cost friendly: It would be a Win Win for everyone!
