Mis Identified Cheval de frise
The seller could be hurting himself, this is a Cheval de frise and not an abatis. An abatis is an obstacle made from the "branches of trees laid in a row, with the sharpened tops directed outwards, towards the enemy." This is not that. If you have a customer looking for, and only, a Cheval de frise, they would miss this completely, and so no sale.
Second, a picky structural thing, the lances/poles intersect with each other when they pass trough the beam. In reality this would weaken them tremendously and they would be easily broken. Again in reality the lances would pass through the beam in alternating directions. I know, I've build a few in RL.
