This is a complete housing compound, based upon the lovely New Orleans French Quarter homes that hide secret gardens in private rear courtyards. Maison Rouge is actually two separate buildings, connected by a second floor gallery. The main house, the actual Maison Rouge proper, is a two store structure with working shutters and doors. The bottom floor is more rustic brick and plaster, and would make a wonderful small commercial space. A French style pass-through hallway leads to the private courtyard in the back, through a cast iron gate. The second floor is a more upscale elegant living space, with fine wood floors, sculpty crown molding, and the door control unit for controlling the scripted doors.

Behind is the private courtyard, with a brick patio. The green pavement is unlinked so that you may remove to allow the natural ground to show, perfect for planting your garden. Here are some shots of how I did the garden in my own private residence in New Toulouse (which was the original inspiration for this build). A wooden staircase leads up to the gallery which wraps around 3 sides of Maison Rouge, providing wonderful views of your neighborhood. It also leads to the green house. Once again, the bottom floor is more rustic, and opens via arches to the courtyard garden. A perfect space for more retail use, as a stable, kitchen, etc. Above, the more residence themed area is elegantly upscaled in green with sculpty crown molding and plaster ceiling.
