This on-type keyboard appears when you type on the main chat channel, and vanishes again when you stop. Your Avatar appears to type on its alien keys, while reading data from its video screen.
Based on the style of 1953's Sci-Fi/Horror classic "War of the Worlds", this Translator did not actually appear in the movie. (Unlike in SL, the Martians in the movie had no interest in communicating with Earthlings! Thankfully, they must be more diplomatic in-world, and will speak with you if they have to.)
Just wear it and start typing! (Does not include a real translator.)
