Hey there! So this is a full perm builder's kit of a Renault 11 Turbo, a classic French rally car.
Doors, trunk, hood, wipers and engine are separate, and so is the gearshift, the handbrake, the steering wheel, seats and the fan of the turbo, if you wish to animate it. Textures used on the car are also included full perms. TOS in the notecard.
You can script it with any SL car system you'd like, but was made mainly with the D2 system in mind which you can find here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/D2-Spec-06-Free-Car-Builders-Kit/18691354
I have also included a wheel in case you need some, no transfer though as it is from a builder's kit from Unicorn Motor Werks (UMW) which you can find at the Tokagoya sim: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Seventh%20Avenue/188/162/2039
This is my first kit, if you have any constructive feedback feel free to leave it in the reviews. If you need help with anything feel free to contact me Inworld, i'll answer if i'm available. Have a nice day!
- Full perm mesh car
- Lots of things, read desc. of the item
Good car shell model, but...
A unique and good car shell model depicting the real thing, and the side graphics being a separate face that can be painted separately is very neat stuff, though I have a few gripes with it, mostly down to personal opinions, but some things about it can be improved for everyone's comfort too perhaps when building with this kit.
First thing to note, non-removable brake discs and drums since they're one piece with the chassis. Especially due to how high they're mounted to the car would also make any attached wheels have to be mounted high too, effectively slamming the car's ride height to the ground. Lots of custom wheels nowadays in SL comes with their own brake disc models too, so it adds up to the compromises working with this kit.
The driver and passenger doors come in 2 pieces despite how it looked like it'd be feasible as a one-piece door each. No glass windows for both doors either... Could be optimized in this place, especially when some textures on the door linings are repeat use from other sources and can easily just use no texture and still look fine.
Lastly, the rear taillights are all one faced, which means you can't separately add brake light, reverse light, and indicator lights to the taillights using the stock provided tails, making you have to create some prims of your own to hide behind the original taillights and act as the actual lights, bumping up the linked object count depending on how much you add and want to use.
